Adplus Adcenter is Turkcell's search engine marketing platform where advertisers bid on keywords for clickable ads to appear in Turkcell's search engine Yaani.
For this freelance project, we as two product designers, collaborated closely with developers and actively participated in all phases of the project together.
PROBLEM
Yaani was a search engine that was positioned as the local search engine of Turkey. Therefore, it needed its own local search engine marketing platform to serve the needs of advertisers. Also we only had two months to complete the project.
GOALS
Campaign creation should be simple
Monitoring of complex data needs to be easy to understand
Users should be able to analyze and optimize the campaign performance with fewer clicks
STEP 1: BRAINSTORMING AND CONCEPTUALIZATION
When we took on this project as freelance designers, the stakeholders had already established most of business and user flows. To further develop their approach, we had a few sessions with them to gain a better understanding of how the system works and users using it.
Given that the campaign creation process was already complex and difficult to comprehend, and our prospect users were already familiar similar products such as Google Adwords and Facebook's Business Manager, we decided not to reinvent the wheel and build a similar product with local touches.
Given our tight deadline, we opted to utilize IBM's Carbon Design System for components and brand it with Adcenter’s visual style.
STEP 2: IDEATION AND DESIGN
To quickly assess the functionality, we created high-fidelity wireframes using carbon components. This allowed us to produce screens efficiently and make adjustments to Adcenter's branding to achieve the final look and feel.
After finalizing the wireframes with the client, we proceeded to create and refine the detailed designs of the screens. The handover was done asynchronously through detailed documentation.
The project was completed in a very short timeframe, demonstrating exceptional efficiency and collaboration.
By leveraging IBM's Carbon Design System, the platform offers a user-friendly interface that simplifies campaign creation, monitoring, and optimization.
Created a localized solution that caters specifically to the Turkish market, aligning with Yaani's positioning as Turkey's search engine.
